A

People vote rationally by using party manifestos, rational voters will look at proposed policies and then vote based on who they think would benefit them the most.
Eg- in 2019 the conservative manifesto pledges to get Brexit done, then went on to win 365 seats in the election.

A

Many don’t vote rationally due to party loyalty for a specific party, as they have early attachment often from family having voted for them.
Eg- in 2017 only 12% of voters said they didn’t identify with any specific party.

A

People vote retrospectively by judging a candidate based on their past performance.
Eg- David Cameron was retrospectively judge as doing well as prime minister as he was already in Gov.
