A

View hierarchy as natural and inevitable within society as reflects the different roles in society.
Theorist- Benjamin Disraeli argued that those with wealth and power who are higher up In society have a responsibility for those less fortunate.
Eg- conservatives would argue that children should do as parents and teachers say without arguing.

A

The desire to conserve traditions, customs and institutions that have endured over time.
Eg- rishi sunsk said, “the coronation of King Charles will be a moment of extraordinary national pride… it’s a proud expression of our history, culture and traditions.”

Private ownership of property

A

They view this as vital as improves individuals in terms of finance and independence.
Theorist- Edmund Burke argued that ownership of property should be the predominant requirement to political representation.
Eg- thatchers right to buy scheme in the 80’s meant that people could buy their council houses at a reduced rate.

Rebuttal- Authority

A

The belief that authority should be top down in nature and that those with the higher social status will have the necessary experience.
Eg- Boris Johnson used his authority as prime minister as a reason to Brexit with having more control over borders.
