A

Model argues that long term factors primarily social class are influential in voting behaviour. Parties still explicitly appeal to different social classes such as labour and the working class and conservatives and the upper class.
Eg- in 2015 election 45% of abc1 voters and 27% of C2DE voted for conservatives.

A

Class dealignment- means that due to factors such as the reconfiguring of the new employment sector in Britain and improved access to education for the working class it led to less extreme opposites of wealthy and the working class.
Eg- in 2019 47% of C2DE voters voted for conservatives and 34% for labour.

A

Ethnic minorities are more likely to vote for labour, may be because labour has less extreme policies on immigration than conservatives.
Eg- in 2017 ipsos mori did a poll on how people voted in 2017, 73% of ethnic minorities voted for labour.

A

Labour is losing support from ethnic minorities it’s been suggested that the only thing keeping ethnic minorities on labours side is the lack of alternatives.
Eg- the aftermath of the Iraq war saw a 5.5% drop in labours Muslim vote in 2005.
