Q

how to carry out an iodine clock initial rates practical ?

A

-measure known volume of reactants
-combine H2O2 , H2SO4 (H+) , starch, thiosulphate
-keep KI separate, to stop reaction from starting until ready
-mix the 2 beakers and start the timer
-stop timer when blue black colour appears
-repeat w different vol of KI - add water to keep total volume same
-calc rate = 1/ time

Q

the gradient on an Arrhenius graph is what ?

A

the gradient is -Ea/R
(so u would x 8.31 then divide by 1000) to get Ea
