What is DIC?
A
An acquired condition where activation of coagulation cascade causes microthrombi to form, then bleeding happens when the factors run out.
Happens in sepsis, malignant, trauma; has a cause so treat it and give FFP and platelets.

What is immune thrombocytopenia?
A
antiplatelet antibodies generated after infection causing bruising and bleeding. Steroids, splenectomy.
