Lymphoma Flashcards
What is the Ann Arbor classification system?
1 = 1 node group involves 2 = >1 node group involved, same side of diaphragm 3 = >1 node group involved, both sides of diaphragm, including spleen 4 = extranodal involvement e.g. liver.
Add A if no B symptoms, add B if there are B symptoms e.g. weight loss, night sweats. Prognostic.
What is a Reed Sternberg cell?
Seen in Hodgkins. Large binucleate B cell with more cytoplasm.
What chemo is used in H Lymphoma?
A = adriamycin B = bleomycin V = vinblastine D = dacarbazine
What is the CRAB criteria for plasma cell myeloma diagnosis?
C = calcium elevation R = renal insufficiency A = anaemia B = bone disease
Also can be biomarkers of malignancy e.g. cloncal plasma cell >60%, SFLC ratio >100, focal lesions on MRI
What is the difference between plasma cell myeloma and MGUS?
MGUS: no BJ protein, no lytic bone lesions, marrow plasma cells <10%, no CRAB.
What is R CHOP chemo?
R = rituximab C = cyclophosphamide H = doxorubicin O = vincristine P = prednisolone
Used in non H lymphoma
What is plasmocytoma?
Single localised tumours consisting of monoclonal plasma cells (e.g. tissue instead of bone marrow). May have M protein, but no other features of plasma cell myeloma.
