What is the procedure for a Nitrazine test?
A
Wash, Glove up, Use applicator to obtain fluid from the vagina. Touch applicator to test paper. OR you can take a strip of Nitrazine paper to the perineum if there is enough drainage. Either way, you compare the color of the paper to the color chart.

Why is a Nitrazine test performed?
A
It detects a rupture of membranes. It does this by testing for the presence of amniotic fluid.
