A
Relief rainfall occurs when a large body of air (called an air mass, as we will see in the next chapter) is forced to rise over a mountain range.

A
Cyclonic (frontal) rainfall occurs when an air mass is forced to rise at a front (where two air masses meet).

A
Convectional rain occurs when the atmosphere close to the ground is heated, causing moisture-laden air to rise.
