•They occur at medium altitude.
• They are also known as fair weather clouds.
• They can bring rain if they darken in colour.

•Stratus clouds occur at low altitude.
• They form thin layers and can block out the sky.
• If they reach ground level, they are called fog.
• They bring continual drizzle and light rain.
