manual processing
developing, washing, fixing, washing and drying
developing 5 mins at 68F
- reducing agent: hydroquinone or elon : reduces exposed silver halide crystal into black metallic silver
- alkalizer: sodium carbonate : softens film emulsion and speeds up action
- restrainer: potassium bromide: inhibits development of unexposed silver halide crystals
- preservative: sodium sulfite : prevents oxidation
fixing 10 mins or 2x developing time
- fix agent: sodium thiosulfate: clears unexposed silver halide crystals
-hardener: potassium alum - shrinks and hardens emulsion - acidifier: acetic acid : keeps medium acidic and stops additional developemtn
-preservative: sodium sulfite - prevents oxidation
inverted Y
mostly found supreior to the max canine apex
zygomatic process
radiopaque
nutrient canals
radiolucent
mandibular canal

caries classification
class I : not at the DEJ
class II: at the DEJ
class III : over the DEJ

clinician postion
behind the wall OR 6 FT AWAY from the source of the radiation, at a 90-135 degree angle
PAN
thyroid collar is NOT worn
only Lead apron
gag reflex
maxillary molars are most lily to provoke gag reflex
wave length
longer wavelength = low frequency = less energy
and vice versa
ampere
number of electrons per second
dental machine : 5-15 mA
volt
force that moves electrons
