What are factors influencing radio waves?
weather, time of day, and geographic location
What is reflection?
When radio waves are bounced from a flat surface
What is refraction?
the bending of waves due to the different characteristics of mediums ( temperature, humidity, pressure, density)
What is diffraction?
radio waves hit a solid or dense object during propagation and the waves bend and changes direction to go around.
What are frequency effects?
lowest useable frequency, frequency of optimum transmission, and maximum useable frequency
What are the frequency paths?
Direct- follows the Earth’s surface
Indirect- travels through the atmosphere
What is attenuation?
Energy loss that causes a decrease in signal strength and absorbs energy from a radio wave.
What are radio waves transmissions?
Surface, space, sky
