What are common symptoms in someone with radicular neck pain?
Neck pain with radiating shooting pain down the arm (dermatomal numbness and myotomal weakness)
What are the 4 tests you would do to rule in neck pain with radiating pain?
Ipsilateral cervical rotation of 60°
Upper limb tension test
Distraction test
Spurlings test
What is the most common cause to radiculopathy?
Chemical irritation (better outcomes in conservative care)
What is another cause to Radiculopathy that is not as common?
Herniated disc compressing the nerve (not respond well to conservative care due to not being able to fix disc)
What position should traction be performed in?
Supine
What do nerves need to be healthy?
Movement, blood, and space
What is treatment for radiating neck pain?
Directional preference (low irritability- retraction)
Traction (high irritability)
