What is Air Command?
Air Command Headquarters coordinates Air Force operations. Headquarters staff help the Air Commander control the activities of six Force Element Groups.

- Air Force Training Group
Wings and Squadrons
A wing is a unit of command, with each wing having squadrons under its command.
Role of ACG
Air Combat Group
Controls all fast-jet combat aircraft and conducts operational training.
Wings - 78, 81 and 82
Role of AMG
Air Mobility Group
Provides air logistics support and responsible for air-to-air refuelling operations.
Wings - 84 and 86.
Role of SRG
Surveillance and Response Group
Maintains air surveillance assets and provides aerospace surveillance and battle space management.
Wings - 41, 42, 44 and 92
Role of AWC
Air Warfare Centre
Delivers relevant advice in response to problems facing Air Force.
Role of CSG
Combat Support Group
Provides airbase operational support to fixed and expeditionary air bases.
Wings - 95 and 96
Role of AFTG
Air Force Training Group
Provides training to members of the Air Force, some personnel from Navy, Army and oversea defence forces.
