Role of an Intello?
The role of an intelligence officer is to not only be a part of the team that acquires and interprets information, but they are also there to guide and to motivate the team in time sensitive tasks where information gathered can be of hostile nature.
Intelligence officers are there to support Australian Defence Force Operations and Security force Squadrons
Daily tasks:
-prep intel briefs/conduct debriefs
-advise
-manage imagery processing and analysis facilities
-analysing and preping assessments for air related activities
-interpet significance of intel reports and data
-assist in maintenance and monitoring of high standards of security throughout the RAAF
Challenges of an Intello?
Highly secure role, unable to speak about role outside of work. Can be isolating
adapting to continuous improvements in technology/hardware
Role can be fatiguing
High consequence decisions
As officer deal with personal issues of colleagues
Deployments outside of family zone
