What are primary sources? What are some examples?
- original source or first hand witness
- photography, diaries, original letters, eye witness reports, AUTObiographies (written by actual self), photos, videos, interview/ speeches, studies (research)

- newspaper, obituaries, BIOgraphies (not written by actual self), movie reviews, peer reviewed articles, encyclopedia (but encyclopedia can also be a tertiary source)

looking for meaning and spelling of words

similar meaning words (synonyms) so that we can have better word choice

at the back of the book to give supplemental info on topics spoken about
usually NOT the answer

What is another name? What passage type is it found in? What examples are they found in?
- straighforward, neutral tone
- expository (to inform, factual)
