- to inform, FACTUAL
- textbook (ACADEMIA), cookbook, HISTORICAL PASSAGES, technical docs, passage of the titanic, numbered steps to explain how to do something
similar to technical passages, which are more so practical

What are the five story elements? Describe each.
A
- exposition: the beginning of the story, introduction of characters, setting, and problem
- rising action: where main action is, suspense builds, leads to climax
- climax: critical moment, when the story really gets good and can’t put the book down.
- falling action: solution to problem appears, characters try to solve the problem.
- resolution: end of story, conflict resolves
