Quiz 3 (Organelles) Flashcards
Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER)
makes lipids
Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER)
produces proteins
Lysosome
the cell recycling center (destroys/cleans/breakdown/repairs worn-out cells)
Nucleolus + where is it located?
assembles ribosomes (and produces them) + it is located inside the nucleus
G.A. (Golgi apparatus/body)
packages and ships lipids and proteins (in and out of cell)
Centrioles/Centrosomes
appear during mitosis and organize microtubules
Vacuoles
in plants=H2O storage; in animals=stores waste products
Microtubules
tubulin proteins in cilia/flagella for movement; becomes mitotic spindle in mitosis
Microfilaments (what they’re made of, what they do, what they’re part of)
made out of thin actin fibers (which work with myosin) that support/can be involved in cell movement; part of actin-myosin movement in cardiac tissue
Chloroplasts
location of photosynthesis in autotrophs (e.g. plants)
Fluid Mosaic
Cell Membrane
