Q

Cell Biologists describe the creation of mitochondria and chloroplasts with the endosymbiotic hypothesis. Describe the endosymbiotic hypothesis and give two pieces of evidence for it.

A

The endosymbiotic hypothesis states that mitochondria and chloroplasts where once free living bacteria. They began living in the first living cells and eventually become permanently incorporated into the. Evidence includes the fact that both these organelles and bacteria have a double cell membrane, their own DNA in the form of a small circular chromosome, and their own Ribosomes.
