- UTI
- Sev GI infection (shigella, campylobacter)
- LRTI
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa

What are the side effects
A
- GI (nausea & diarrhoea)
- delayed hypersensitivity
- neuro effects (hallucinations, lowered seizure threshold)
- inflammation & rupture of tendons
- inc risk of arrhythmia (inc QT interval)
- promote C.Diff colitis

What are the contra-indications
A
- Caution in those with a risk of seizures
- Caution in growing (risk of arthropathy)
- RFs for QT prolongation (cardiac disease, electrolyte disturbance)

What are the interactions
A
- Drugs with divalent cations (Ca, ANTACIDS)
- THEOPHYLLINE
- NSAIDs (inc risk of SE)
- PREDNISOLONE (inc risk of tendon rupture)
- Drugs that prolong QT interval (SSRIs, MACROLIDES, AMIODARONE, QUININE, ANTIPSYCHOTICS)
