India has had problems in implementing a family planning programme. Give reasons for these problems, using the following headings economic, social; political.
Economical: India is very poor and covers a large area, making communication extreamly difficult.
Social: A high percent of India’s population is rural and education is not widespread.
Political: India is a democracy and therefor can’t use as strict laws as China with restricting child birth.
What are the main reasons for the succes of Mauritius’ population controls?
Improved economy resulting in more farmland, more external investments, and improved health care.
Describe the distribution of the countries with the highest percentage of elderly.
Elderly usually move to the south coast because of the mild climate. Also they tend to stay out of big cities.
