- Breathing and vitals
- Level of consciousness
- Glucose level
- Suspected ingestion or drug overdose?
- Hx of trauma
- Fever
- Associated sx
- Pmhx (DM, renal disease, vp shunt, sickle cell)

Questions about abdominal pain
A
- How old is the patient
- Where is the pain located
- Quality(colicky, vs sharp)
- Duration of pain
- Pain like this before
- Associated GI sx
- Urinary sx
- Systemic sx
- Hx of trauma
- Lmp, sexually active, vaginal discharge
- Fever
- Hx of chronic illness

Questions to ask for sore throat
A
- Vitals
- How old
- Respiratory status (tripoding, signs respiratory distress)
- Preceding illness
- Immunization status
- Trouble swallowing, pain with swallowing, neck stiffness, trismus, drooling, change in voice

Questions to ask for seizure
A
- Describe the event- AMS, extremity movements, eye deviations, lip smacking, cyanosis
- Hx of seizures
- Fever or associated sx
- Trauma
- Concern for ingestion
- LOC (no LOC with partial sz)
- How long did it last
- Birth Hx
- Pmhx (development, meds, Hx head trauma)
- Family Hx

Questions to ask about nosebleed
A
- Hx of trauma
- Hx of re cent surgery?
- Medications? (ie nasal sprays, etc)
- Bleeding unilateral?
- How long did it last?
- What did they try to do to stop the bleeding?
- Hx of bleeding problems?

Questions to ask about cough?
A
- How long has cough been present?
- Sudden (choking) or gradual onset?
- Associated sx
- Constant or intermittent?
- Productive?
- Things that aggravate the cough?
- Does cough go away with sleep?

Questions to ask for suspected ALTE
A
- Describe episode-apnea, color change, change in muscle tone, choking, gagging
- Who witnessed the episode
- Any family Hx of SIDS
- ROS- fever, abnormal movements (sz)
- Pmhx- prematurity, Neuro problems, OSA
