How many days are you staying?
I’m staying in Madrid for one week.
Quedarse
Cuántos días te quedas?
Me quedo en Madrid una semana.
To have something left, as in what the kitchen can still prepare for you.
Use quedar like you would Gustar.
I have something left
Me queda
Me quedan
I have chicken and stuffed peppers left. ( if a series of singular items use Queda)
I have two chickens left ( more than one of the same thing use Quedan)
Me queda pollo y chile relleno.
Me quedan dos pollos.
What you ask at an informal “ hole- in-the-wall”
What do you have left? ( formal)
Qué le queda ( formal you )
Like Gustar, so for formal “you”, Queda is preceded by “le”.
To fall asleep or to Sleep in
When I am not able to fall asleep.
The class was really boring. I was falling asleep.
I slept in and missed my flight.
Quedarse Dormido
Cuando no puedo quedarme dormido.
La clase era muy aburrida. Me estaba quedando dormido.
Me quedé dormido y perdí el vuelo.
To become or stay Warm
My beer is warm.
Quedarse Caliente
Mi cerveza se ha quedado caliente.
