what is quality control?
• The product is inspected and checked at the very end of the production process. Quality control can lead to a waste as a faulty product can go through several stages before it detected
why do businesses use quality control?
• At the end of production, the work is checked and therefore faults can be found at the end and fixed to make it fit for purpose.
• Products that cannot be fixed can be scrapped or recycled.
what is quality management?
• There is emphasis on everyone in an organisation to maintain a quality good or service. ALL staff must strive to ensure the end product is of the highest quality. There must be a clear definition of what quality is. (a quality policy should be created)

• All staff are required to be responsible for producing quality products and therefore staff are committed to quality improvement by taking care of their work and making sure it is of the best quality

• Each stage of production is checked to ensure that the product is of a satisfactory standard before moving on to the next stage

• prevent faults from happening as work is checked regularly throughout the production process.
• This will keep waste low as product is checked regularly

• a business compares itself with the best in its field and strives to achieve a similar standard. It is based on what you consider the best firm. Often the organisation being compared will be market leader.
what is quality circles?
• Staff from different areas of the business come together to discuss ways in which the organisation can improve. This may involve ways of providing a better service to the public or reducing costs.
