Q

What occurs during ventricular filling?

A
  1. Ventricles are filling with blood and are in diastole
  2. Tricuspid and bicuspid valves are wide open
  3. Atrial systole occurs
  4. SLVs are closed

Q

What occurs during Isovolumetric contraction?

A
  1. Ventricular systole starts
  2. AVs & SLVs close when enough pressure builds in the ventricles
  3. Atrial diastole begins

Q

What occurs during ventricular ejection?

A
  1. Ventricular systole continues
  2. AV valves are still closed
  3. Atrial diastole continues
  4. Pressure opens SLVs and blood is ejected into the pulmonary artery and aorta
