How to dispose of EPIRB
Great care to avoid activating a beacon, should be stowed correctly, not be stowed or disposed without removing batteries

Visual 40miles @night/ 10miles in day
Burns 40 seconds
Aim downwind 15degrees
Hand/Pin Point Flare
Summon help closer range day or night
Bright red hand held signal,
Will burn 1 minute
Hold over side of boat
Hand Held orange smoke signal
Daylight only
Emits smoke 40 sec
Use in lighter winds
Short range signal
Buoyant orange smoke signal
Daylight only
Burns 4 minutes
Place in water on leeward side
Do not hold flare once lit must drop in water

Check with local police station or marine supplier so see best procedure in area, never dispose of damaged or date expired
