The most common pathogens of lung disease in the setting of cystic fibrosis (children vs adults).
Staphylococcus aureus is the most common pathogen isolated in infants and children (<20 yo) with cystic fibrosis (CF). Pseudomonas aeruginosa is the most common cause of CF-related pneumonia in adults (>20) and contributes to life-threatening decline of pulmonary function.
