Pulmonology Flashcards

1
Q

What is the pleurae?

A

-membranous serous sac (visceral pleura) covers each -lung
-abnormalities:
pneumothorax- pleural space contains air
hemothorx- pleural space contains blood
pus fills pleural
increased amounts of serous fluid
*cause compression of lung and cause respiratory distress

Q

Describe bronchial circulation

A
  • broncial arteriers directly drain into bronchial veins
