What is pulmonary hypertension?
A
Elevated pressure in the pulmonary arteries (>25mmHg), resulting from increased pulmonary vascular resistance.
Can be arterial or venous in development.

What is a complication of pulmonary hypertension?
A
Cor pulmonale
The result of creased right ventricular afterload, producing hypertrophy/dilation of the ventricular walls - thus, right heart failure.
