Q

Describe all of the steps of pulmonary circulation.

A
  1. A muscle contraction of the right ventricle pushes the blood through the pulmonic valve and into the pulmonary artery
  2. From the pulmonary artery to smaller arteries, arterioles, and capillaries
  3. In the lung, alveoli, red blood cells exchange gasses: they pick up oxygen and release carbon dioxide through diffusion
  4. The oxygenated blood flows throug capillaries to venules and through the pulmonary veins
  5. The blood empties into the left atrium
