Who is Edwin Chadwick?
He is a public health pioneer who raised awareness about the Public Health to the British hovernment which lead to the Publich Health Act 1848
What did Edwin Chadwick do?
-He sent out doctors to most of the majour towns and cities and they interviewed hundreds of people.
-He made a report out of this and it shocked Britain
-The government finally decided to act and passed the Public Health Act

-a National Board of Health is to be created where there is a high death rate
-make sure new houses are built with drains and toilets

Who is Mary Seacole?
A Jamacian-Scottish nurse who is known for her work during the Crimean war. She provided medical care to wounded soldiers on the battlefield.

She established the Hotel des Invalides in Balaclava, a British camp that served as a hospital for soldiers
