What is a pterygium?
A
Triangular-shaped fibrovascular lesion over the perilimbal conjunctiva (nasal or temporal) and grows towards the cornea (often interpalpebral)

what are the risk factors for getting pterygium?
A
UV light exposure

what are the symptoms of pterygium?
A
- Redness, swelling, itch, irritation
- Blurry vision BOV (if it obscures the centre of the cornea and obscures the pupil)
- Astigmatism (due to pressure on the corneal surface resulting in irregularity)
- Exotropia/esotropia (due to its pull on the eye)
