Skin picking
There is support for the use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRis). Studies comparing fluoxetine against placebo has shown fluoxetine to be superior in reducing skin-picking. The opioid antagonist naltrexone has proven to reduce the urge to pick, particularly in patients who experience pleasure from the behavior. Glutamatergic agents and lamotrigine have also shown efficacy.
