Angina Flashcards
Nifedipine
It is ca channel blocker
Cannot be used in angina due to reflex tachycardia
Ivaradine
Block na channel in sa node , so it will decrease the current of the heart , it used instead of beta-blocker if can’t used …
Outcome is bradycardia
Ranolazine
It is PFOX but its main mechanism is to block Na channel so Ca will decrease ==> weak contraction
Bisoprolol , metoprolol , carvedilol
Best B-blocker used for angina
Isosorbide
It is oral form (like nitroglycerine)
Nicorandil
Potassium channel blocker => relaxation + vasodilation
Families of ca++ channel blocker
1) phenylalkylamines ====> verapamil . 2) dihydropyridine ====> nifedipine , Amlodipine . 3) Benzothiazepine ====> Diltiazem
Nemodipine
It is Ca++ channel blocker .
it has a selectivity to cerebral vessels , so it is beneficial after subarachnoid hemorrhage to reduce vasospasm .
Notes
Amlodipine has longer half-life than other.
All ca blockers cause heart block , ankle edema , constipation
