Psych: General presentations Flashcards
A 44-year-old man is seen in GP with his mother. She is concerned with his welfare as he lives alone and has been reclusive for some time. He rarely leaves his apartment and has no hobbies apart from using his computer. He is generally cold when his mother or family visit and talks very little. He has not had a relationship for many years. He appears unkempt and avoids eye contact during the consultation. His mother is concerned that he may have Schizophrenia as his father behaved in a similar way before his diagnosis. He denies any visual or auditory hallucinations. You cannot elicit any delusional beliefs. What is the most likely diagnosis in this patient?
