(sleep change, interest loss/pleasure loss, guilt/worthlessness, energy loss/fatigue, concentration loss, appetitie/weight change, psychomotor change, suicidal thoughts)
define how to diagnose adjustment disorder
occurs within 3 months of stressor; lasts 1-6 months, does not have 5 or more MDD symptoms
hypomania vs. mania
hypomania, in contrast to mania, does not involve functional impairment and does not require hospitalization and is 4 days rather than 1 week

bipolar I= at least 1 manic or mixed episode
bipolar II= at least 1 MDE + hypomania
manic episode= 1 week of DIG FAST (distractibility, insomnia, grandiosity, flight of ideas, activity/agitation, sexual indiscretion, talkativeness)
