What are the typical presentations of Psoriasis
Red, itchy and scaly well demarcarted plaques that typically present symetrically on extensor surfaces
Most common age of incidence
20s and 50s
What are the 5 subtypes
Erythrodermic, Nail, Chronic Plaque, Mild-guatte and inverse psorasis
What is special about inverse psoriasis
occurs in skin folds, is not dry or wet (moist), is smooth and red with no scales
What is special about chronic plaques
Plaques with well defined raised and pink with silver scales
Special Types
Localised pustular and generalised pustular (medcal emergency)
What are some complications
Psoratitc Arthritis
Localisations of Psoratitc Arthritis
In the ring finger leading to dactylitis, and toes (except with 2nd toe) with no metatarsal invovlement
Treatment of Psoriasis
Topical (corticosteriods, vitD or Dithralin), Phototheerapy or systemic immunusuppression
