- Chronic, systemic inflammatory disorder that primarily effects the skin & sometimes joints
- Immune process secondary to overactive T-cells resulting in hyperproliferation of keratinocytes in the epidermis

- Plaque type (M/C)
- Guttate
- Inverse (skin folds)
- Pustular
- Erythrodermic
Dry, thick silverly scaly plaques that are itchy +/- nail pitting/oil spots

Appearance of skin lesions at site of trauma (seen in Psoriasis)

Punctate bleeding when scales are scraped off
How do you treat Psoriasis?
- Topical steroids
- Vitamin D Analogues like Calcipotriene
- Phototherapy
- Systemic agents
- Biologics

How do you treat Lichen Planus?
- 1st line = Topical/IL steroids
- NBUVB light therapy
“Herald patch” (single red oval plaque) –> “Christmas tree” pattern
Pityriasis Rosea: papulosquamous eruption usu. confined to trunk & proximal extremities that’s treated symptomatically
