Why is it important to outline your speech?
-it allows you to look at the content of your speech in way that you can decide if it’s fully developed, does it flow, and if all the items within the speech connect with each other.
What is preparation outline?
-It’s an outlined created when you are writing the speech. (it includes: title; specific purpose, central idea, introduction, main points, sub-points, connectives, conclusion, & bibliography.
What is speaking outline?

- a brief outline used by a speaker to help him during the speech.
- follow the visual framework used in the preparation outline; make sure the outline is legible; keep the outline as brief as possible; Give yourself cues for delivering the speech.
what are the eight guidelines for a preparation outline?
-State the Specific Purpose of your Speech; Identify the introduction, Body, and Conclusion; use a consistent pattern of symbolization and indentation; State main points and Sub-points in full sequences; Label Transitions, Internal Summaries, and Internal Previews; attach a bibliography; Give your speech a title, if one is desired.
