protoctists- Flashcards
What type of cells are protoctists?
Protoctists are single-celled, eukaryotic organisms. some however aggregate (group together) into larger forms.
Are protoctists more like plant cells or animal cells?
Some protoctists contain features which make them more like an animal cell however some have features, like a cell wall and chloroplasts, making them more like a plant cell.
How do protoctists feed?
The cells most like plant cells are able to feed through photosynthesis however the cells more alike to animal cells will feed through oraganic substances made by other living things.
what are the structures of a protoctist?
All protoctists contain cell membrane, mitochondria, cytoplasm, a nucleus and a contractile vacuole. however then they range in structures e.g some possess a flagella and some posses food vacuoles…..
