how to perform
P: patients eyes closed, hold affected side, ask to replicate position with good side, observe accuracy
single joints: limb to mid range, move up/down, ask whether more up/down
Co: touch physios finger to own nose, physio moves finger, speed up repeats / heel down shin, repeat, look for instability, compare sides
contraindications / precautions
MSK: fractures, unstable joints
CR: infection
CV: disease
N: conscious, pain, numbness, altered sensation
weakness, poor balance
how to know if normal
visually measure accuracy of repeat/answer
normal / impaired

compare sides

measure awareness of joint position in space, direction of movement, muscle force
accuracy of cerebellum in providing feedback to correct motor plan
see if lacking in functional tasks
