PROJECTION 4. Perspective projection/Convergent projection. Flashcards
Perspective projection/Convergent projection.
✔Type of projection in which the projectors converge at a single point -
Station point
✔ Point from where the observer looks object -
Picture Plane
✔Plane in which picture of the object forms-
- Horizontal Plane.
✔ Plane parallel to the Earth and in line with the eye of the observer
Ground Plane.
✔ If some plane is taken on the surface of the Earth -
✔The line of intersection of the ground plane and the picture plane -
Ground Line
✓ A line which starts from observer’s eye and meets the picture plane after passing through the horizontal plane -
Horizontal Line
Center of Vision
Point on the picture plane which is the point of intersection of the horizontal line emerging from Station point -
Piercing Point
Point on the picture plane which is formed by the intersection of the picture plane and the projection line -
- Vanishing Point
Point at infinity where the length, breadth, and height of an object vanish
Axis of Vision
Horizontal line which starts from the observer’s eye and makes an angle of 90° with the picture plane -
-Normal Perspective
✓ When the picture plane isin between object and station point
-Larger perspective
✓ When object isin between picture plane and station point
-Perspective reverse
✔ When station point isin between Object and picture plane
Types of perspective projection:
Visual ray method, Vanishing point method
Parallel Perspective / One point perspective drawing
✓ When principle face of the object is placed parallel to picture plane -
Angular Perspective / Two- point perspective
✓ When two faces of the object is inclined to the picture plane -
Oblique/Three point perspective
✓ When three faces of the object are inclined to the picture plane -
