How can a logic model assist in program planning and evaluation?
A
- Logic model = logical chain of connections showing what the program is to accomplish
- Series of if/then relationships
- Inputs (program investments) + Outputs (activities and participation) = Outcomes (short, medium, long-term)
- Examples = family members, budget, car, camping equipment + drive to state park, set up camp, cook, play, talk = family members learn about each other, bond, have a good time

- Program stage: before program begins or new program
- Evaluation type: needs assessment or process/implementation evaluation
- Questions asked: To what extent is need being met? Is the program operating as planned?
