Processing Speed Flashcards
Full FSQ of processing speed
- Coding
- Symbol search
- Cancellation (not primary)
What is coding? what does it measure?
Paper format – client has to draw the symbol of the responding number within a specific time
In the digital version – examinee taps the symbols associate with the correct number
What it measures
1. Coding speed
2. Short-term memory
3. Learning ability
4. Visual acuity
5. Sequential processing
6. Attention to visual stimuli
What is Symbol search?
Examinee has to scan group of symbols and indicate whether the target symbols are present by drawing a line through the correct symbols. Within a specified limit
What does symbol search measure?
- Attention to visual stimuli (= coding)
- Learning ability ( = coding)
- Short-term visual memory (= coding)
- Visual motor coordination
- Perceptual and psychomotor speed
- Perceptual organization
- Visual discrimination
- Processing speed (visual motor processing speed( (coding = coding speed)
what is cancellation? and how are the trials different ?
The examinee is required to find / mark target items scattered among distractors
First trial – random configuration, or random array of stimuli , then organized configuration, organized into rows on the second trial
- What does cancellation in PS measure?
- Perceptual speed
- Visual perceptual processing
- Visual discrimination
- Visual scanning
- Rate of test taking
What is the full scale IQ including in WISC-V
verbal comprehension, visual spatial, processing speed, fluid reasoning, working memory
Name All the subtests of verbal comprehension
similarities, vocal, information, comprehension
is quantitative reasoning from primary or ancillary index scale?
Ancillary
