Outlines the project objectives, assigns PM. The approved project charter formally initiates the project.
Basically a high-level brief

Necessary information that determines whether or not the project is worth the required investment
Stakeholder Register
Contains:

* role
* communication requirements
* expectations
* power influence level
Stakeholders’ Direction of Infuence
Directions of Influence:
* Upward: Senior management
* Downward: Team members
* Outward: Vendors, government, public, end-users
* Sideward: peers such as other project managers
Stakeholder Saliency Model
Salience refers to how prominent or noticeable something or someone is.
