What is a spin?
A
maneuver where the airplane descends in a helical path with 1 wing stalled. (AoA greater than critical AoA)
Happens from aggravated stall in slip or skid
nose yaws in direction of low wing

- engine failure on takeoff (stretching the glide)
- cross-control turn from base to final
- engine failure on approach
- go-around with excessive nose-up trim
- go-around with too fast flap retraction causing aircraft to sink

Spin recovery procedure
A
PARE
Power off
Ailerons neutral
Rudder opposite the spin
Elevator forward briskly to break stall
neutralize rudder
back-elevator to raise the nose
