Procedural Knowledge Flashcards
Logbook and DI Log Review Requirements
- Onboard
- Tail# matches
- AWR signed on top white page
- Compare referrals on OFP to DI Log
- Capt must review all deferrals on DI Log
- Contact dispatch for discrepancies between OFP and DI Log
Required to preflight aircraft
Logbook with AWR
Or
Verbal confirmation from Maintenance
Deferred items codes
C D G I M O R X Y
C - CDL D - Deferred Mx. ( not on OFP) G - ETOPS downgrade I - Informational Items ( not on OFP ) M - MEL Deferrals(NEF items not req on OFP) O - RVSM Downgrades R - Restrictive Item (may not be MEL or CDL) X - CAT II/III Downgrade Y - Maintenance Response Item ( MRI ) —— Requires a crew logbook entry
OFP Review WRT to DI Log
Determine if Deferrals could adversely affect to scheduled flight
Consider:
1: Departure, enroute, and altn WX
2. Navigational Facilities
3. Runway conditions
4. Altitude or Speed restrictions
5. Category Status (CATII/III, ETOPS, RVSM)
6. Other factors determined by the Capt
Aircraft Airworthiness Release
( AWR )
Signature Represents
- Work done IAW manuals
- Inspections conducted by authorized individual
- Logbook reviewed back to previous AWR
- No known condition exists that would make the aircraft unairworthy
- As far as the work performed is concerned, the aircraft is in a condition for safe operation
Note: review of previous pages by Captain required to determine added oil quantity for ACARS, any further review is optional.
DI Log Review Requirements
- Header ( Current Logbook Page #, local time/date, gateway, mec’s name/id#)
—Flt # and ETA not part of Capts review - Deferred Items
- Maintenance DI review signed (since last flight) ( not required if non-Mx staffed gateway)
Stable Approach Criteria @ 1000’ HAT
- Landing Configuration
- Landing Checklist Complete
- Airspeed + 20 / -5 knots of Vapp
- Sink rate < 1000 fpm
- Aircraft is on a vertical path that will result in landing within the TDZ
Stable Approach Criteria @ 500’
@ 200’
- Airspeed +/- 5 knots of Vapp
- Engine thrust is stabilized at a level that results in target speed
200’ - Aircraft is aligned with the lateral confines of the runway
When is a vertical speed up to 1200 fpm acceptable below 1000’ on approach?
Approach conditions that require higher air speeds/ground speeds due to: 1. A steep glide path 2. Heavy gross weight 3. Non-normal configuration —discuss in approach brief
Where is Engine Start W/ pneumatic source procedures

What FDP function allows for contamination for landing distance?
Most restrictive of condition codes or breaking action
Alt Takeoff performance is FDP is unavailable

FDP & Malfunction affects Vapp or landing distance where are the corrections?

NADP 1 & 2 Differences
NADP-2 Standard for UPS
ICAO — thrust reduction above 800 ‘ AFE and lower clean up/acc alt
UPS used 1000’ AFE ex A300 which uses 1500’ AFE
NADP-1
ICAO- thrust reduction at or above 800’ AFE and clean up/acc at 3000’ AFE
UPS uses 1500’ AFE thrust reduction and 3000’AFE for clean up and acc
If airport req’s NADP - 1 its in the APG
Non-compliance req’s an event report
