What is reinforcement learning?
CS AI and Cognitive Psych and problem solving.
Useful to think about it as an agent that is making repeated decisions in an environment
What is the method for problem solving.
States , actions, and rewards. The goal is to maximize sum of rewards. State is the place, then action is the movement and the prize is the reward.
What is quality learning?
To make decisions, we can just focus on the rewards because the rewards are far away right now. What we want to do is go to a good high quality states what will let us get to rewards later on.
What is model free based strategy?
Model free is purely from experience which actions end up working out well. Doesn’t require knowing how states change over time or how actions impact states. Uses cached knowledge about which actions led to goals rewards.
What is a model-based strategy?
Explicitly plans out the actions that will take you to goals and rewards.
