The digital communications network channel used as the default channel for communications with Firecom
Firecall
Indicates to QFD staff and volunteers conducting non-urgent business that Firecom has urgent “Firecall” information to transmit. May also be used by QFD staff/volunteers to prepare Firecom Centre to receive incident information
Go ahead
Send your message. Used to differentiate between two or more vehicles waiting to transmit to indicate which vehicle is to transmit first. Not used on every message
Inc Talk Group
Incident talk group. A talk group used for communication between an incident controller and Firecom
I say again
Used when making repetitions for emphasis or in response to a request to repeat information
I spell
The phonetic alphabet is used when spelling out difficult words (chemical names), words which may be confused (streets), or letter groups (acronyms)

Multiple calls
An advisory term used by Firecom to advise responding vehicles that more than one call has been received regarding the incident in question. It may be transmitted during turnout or during the vehicles response advice, or while vehicles are in transit to an incident
Negative
No, or permission not granted, or that is not correct
Nothing heard
No response has been received from a particular callsign
Number(s)
Used before sending figure, or group of figures, that is out of context with the normal flow of information being transmitted and/or may create confusion, during poor radio conditions
Over
My transmission is ended and I expect a reply or acknowledgment; go ahead and transmit
Radio check
Report how you receive my transmission. E.g. weak and distorted, weak but readable, loud and distorted, or loud and clear.
Read back
Receiving callsign is to read back the entire message
Roger
Message received (it does not mean yes)
Say again
Repeat all of your transmission again (or identify the portion to be repeated) E.g. “say again all after callsign at location”
Stand by
Stop transmitting and wait for advice to continue to send your message
Stop
All resources required to control an incident are on scene. All QFD vehicles mobile to the scene are no longer required. Firecom will instigate Code Four zero (40) messages to subsequent responding vehicles
Tac talk group
Tactical talk group. A talk group which facilitates incident ground communications only

Firecom will announce the “Time” at the conclusion of each relevant group of transmissions to indicate the conclusion of these transmissions. No further transmission relating to this exchange of messages is expected
Under control
The situation is under control. Other vehicles responding or proceeding to the incident are still required. A STOP message must be added if no further QFD vehicles are required
