What is Relief printing?
Relief prints are made by carving out of a raised surface, such as linoleum or wood.
What is stencils or screen printing?
Stencils are a sheet of paper film or plastic and which lettering or design has been cut out so the ink apply to the sheet will transfer to the pattern on a surface.
What is a Brayer?
A small, hand-held roller used to spread ink
Is a barren?
A round pad used to press inks and paper.
What is an Artist’s proof?
It is a test trial of the print before, while artist is still working on it, to see how design turns out.
What is an edition?
Set of identical prints that are numbered and signed.
Is a gouge?
A tool for carving out of linoleum and wood
Is an impression number?
The number of a print in an edition.
What is ink?
Coloring material composed of pigment
Is a printing press?
Device used by printmakers to produce print one copy at a time
What is intaglio?
Intaglio prints are created by scratching into a hard surface, such as zinc or copper plates
