What does specificity means
Matching training to the requirements of an activity
What is progressive overload
The term overload is used to describe when an athlete trains more than they normally do, this is the only way athletes can improve their fitness.
Individual needs
The needs of the athlete must come first,using another persons programme would not work as they have different starting points and needs.
Starts slowly and gradually increases the amount of exercise
Progressive overload
Used to increase the amount of work the body does in order to achieve overload.
FITT
The time required to repair to the body caused by training or competition
